Jennifer landed her first professional acting job at the
age of fifteen, with a small city theatre in Buffalo, New
York. As a teen she attended the Buffalo Academy of
Visual and Performing Arts, and her nights and weekends
were spent expanding her creative horizons working as a
production assistant and stock actress for Mr. John
Fanning’s South Buffalo Theatre Group. After graduating
with a Regents Diploma from Performing Arts, she was
selected on scholarship to attend the Eastman School of
Music, at the University of Rochester, NY. In 1990,
Jennifer placed first in several acting categories and was
selected as a finalist at the International Modelling and
Talent Association competition in New York City. She
moved to the Los Angeles area in 1991, appearing in a
television pilot while continuing her focus on theatre
productions, studying stagecraft and production. Jennifer
soon became a recurring lead in productions for the
Cedar Street Theatre and was hired to appear in a series
of productions written and produced by Jerry Lyden and
Nancy Nicholson.
Marriage to a soldier changed her life in many ways,
taking her to first to northern California, then Arizona and
Texas. Despite the frequent moves, Jennifer found time
to act and direct for several regional theatre companies,
making more friends and taking on new creative
challenges in every venue. Settling in England in 1998,
she began to explore other aspects of theatre and wrote
several plays, including one that was accepted for
production at a well-established Cambridge venue. She
also continued her acting, playing a number of roles in
regional theatre companies (even playing a convincingly
male Einstein in a well-received production of Steve
Martin’s Picasso at the Lapin Agile.) The past several
years have seen Jennifer cross from a focus on the stage
into new opportunities as an actress in the British film
and radio industries.
Not content to rely on the well-worn novelty of being an
American actor in the UK, Jennifer has continued seeking
to expand her competency in the challenging world of the
British theatre and entertainment industry. To do this,
between projects she participates in a variety of classes
and workshops (including Andrew Higgs' renowned
Alchemy of Screen Acting course.) Currently, Jennifer is
studying for her RADA certificate in performing
Shakespeare.
In addition to a rigorous creative life, Jennifer continues
to enjoy home life with her husband of sixteen years, and
their enchanting eleven year old, non-verbal Autistic
son. The fact that home life is always interesting, if not
sometimes tragic, allows Jennifer plenty of experiences
from which to draw, should she find herself working with
fans of Meisner or the Method.
